Future Dates To Be Announced As Scheduled.

This training series is intended for parents of learners with autism or other developmental disabilities, for those who have never worked in ABA but are interested in being trained, and for those who already work as ABA staff but need a refresher or more specific training in teaching verbal behavior.

§

Each training series will last for 2 days; both full days are mandatory. Each training day will last from 9:30 AM until roughly 5:30 PM. Day 1 will consist mainly of brief background on the science of behavior analysis, addressing problem behavior, gaining instructional control through "pairing," and effective teaching procedures. Day 2 will focus on teaching verbal behavior, balancing DTT and NET, data collection, and using the ABLLS to guide instruction, among other topics. We will also spend several hours in intensive hands-on training, practicing the teaching procedures across verbal operants and other skill repertoires. Q & A and discussion of the material covered will happen throughout the weekend.

§

Although I hope that you learn much from the weekend, in no way do these two days qualify as having been "trained by," "certified by," or "associated/working with" me or my associates. This is meant to be an introductory training that will begin your education in effective teaching procedures and teaching verbal behavior. Hopefully it will motivate you to obtain further training in these areas through formal study, fieldwork, self-education, and conferences with other behavior analysts.

§

Currently the only series available is this intro level series. However, I hope to eventually offer additional series at different levels and will post any information on that as soon as it becomes available. Although there is no certification offered for this training, I'm happy to sign some evidence of attendance or payment so that you can obtain any "credit" or reimbursement that might be available to you through your employer for attending such a training.

Trainings will be scheduled as availability and interest allow. Please check this site and the mailing list (info below) for updates.

§

Attendance is limited to 40 people per training series, unless arrangements for a larger venue are made.
